5 Benefits of Staying at a Disney Resort

There are a lot of great benefits of staying at a Walt Disney World Resort if you’re taking a vacation to Walt Disney World.

1. Ability to Book FastPass+ Reservations 60 Days Before Arrival

As a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort, you will have the ability to reserve FastPass times for select shows and attractions up to 60 days before you arrive. This helps in planning your trip before you arrive so you have more time on vacation just to enjoy your vacation experience.

How It Works

After booking a Disney Resort hotel room and tickets, you can link your reservations together on the MyDisneyExperience app. You are now good to go. You can choose up to three FastPass+ experiences at one park per day of your visit in advance–at no additional charge. After you have redeemed these FastPasses on the day of your visit, you can continue to reserve more FastPasses one at a time for the remainder of your day–attractions and shows subject to availability.

2. Extra Magic Hours!

You can spend extra time at one of the theme parks each day. You will be required to have a valid theme park admission and a Resort ID. With the extra hours in the parks, you have a little extra time for fun with your family and friends on select attractions and shows.

3. Complimentary MagicBands

MagicBands resemble a wristband or bracelet and are available in seven different colors. You can have them customized with your name if requested up to 10 days before you arrive.

What do I use a MagicBand for?

  • Charge food and merchandise back to your hotel room (if you’ve left credit card information at check-in)
  • Check in at FastPass+ special lines at attractions and shows
  • Connect PhotoPass pictures to your account
  • Enter the theme parks and water parks (must have attached your ticket information to your MyDisneyExperience account)
  • Unlock your Disney resort hotel room

I literally throw my credit cards and ID in the safe in my room when traveling to the Walt Disney World resort. No need to carry them around with me and worry about them getting lost or stolen. It’s a real win-win for me.

4. Complimentary Transportation and Parking

When traveling to Walt Disney World resort, you can sit back, relax, and let them do all the driving…it’s all included.

Disney’s Magical Express is a service that conveniently transports you and your group between Orlando International Airport and your Disney resort via a motorcoach, including luggage delivery service–at no additional charge.

I love being able to check my luggage in at my departing airport and having it magically appear in my room. Then, when I return, if my flights are right, I can check my luggage in at the resort and don’t have to worry about it until I get to the airport back home and pick it up there at baggage claim.

Disney provides complimentary transportation all over the 40+ square miles of Walt Disney World Resort property. Depending on where you want to go, you can travel via ferry boat, motor coach, monorail, and the new Disney Skyliner.

The Disney Skyliner gives you the opportunity to glide around in the sky while traveling between Disney’s Hollywood Studios, International Gateway at Epcot, and the following resorts:

If you choose to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you receive complimentary parking at the Disney Springs area, Disney theme parks, and the Disney water parks. (Hotel resorts do charge a nightly parking fee if you have a vehicle.)
