We are so excited to hear that the Disney Skyliner transportation system has officially opened. The new magic in the skies can be found at the Walt Disney World Resort. The official dedication was held September 29, 2019, at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. The dedication was hosted by Disney executives as well as selected cast members. The new transportation system will be complimentary.
The day’s festivities honored the “most magical flight on Earth” and featured fireworks, Disney characters, and more. Take a look at the video released by Disney to see the fun.
The Disney Skyliner will connect Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot to four Disney resort hotels–Disney’s Art of Animation, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort (scheduled to open mid-December 2019). The system will fly guests through the air aboard approximately 300 gondolas–many of which are wrapped in beloved Disney characters, fan-favorite movies, theme park attractions, and more.
While you ride in the Disney Skyliner, you will be treated to fantastic views of the Walt Disney World Resort as never seen before. You will float along the treetops and waterways and be provided with a bird’s-eye view of famous Walt Disney World Theme Park icons such as Epcot’s Space Ship Earth and Disney’s Hollywood Studio’s Hollywood Tower Hotel.

Fall is almost here, and the Disneyland Resort is getting ready to celebrate the Halloween season! This year brings a brand-new, separate ticket: Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure park. You’ll be in for some spooktacular fun. Age is irrelevant as there is something for everyone at this new party starting September 17, 2019, and available for 20 select nights in 2019.
The menacing Oogie Boogie has cast a spell and summoned the Disney villains so they can scare up some spooky surprises. Tricks AND treats will be in Oogie Boogie’s bag. Here’s a sneak peak at some of the new experiences that will be available to party guests (and ghouls) this year.
1. DescenDANCE Party
At the Backlot area of Hollywood Land, you will be able to find a interactive dance party. This party is inspired by the “Descendants” franchise that can be seen exclusively on the Disney Channel. A dance crew from the Isle of the Lost is summoned when a spell is cast and everyone is lead in dance moves from all three of the “Descendants” movies. Watch out for magic mirrors! You just might find the the original “Villain Kids” crashing through them. Throughout the evening, the Backlot DJ will continue to play tunes and invite everyone to step on the dance floor.
2. Frightfully Fun Parade
The “Frightfully Fun Parade” will be migrating across the way from Disneyland Park this year. As usual, you can spot the Headless Horsemen of Sleepy Holly kicking off the parade with his flickering lantern. Following the Headless Horseman will be a parade of Disney characters and those mischievous villains. Watch out — they want to get some trouble started!
3. Immersive Treat Trails
One of the things I enjoy the most about the Disney Halloween parties is the fact that everyone can go trick-or-treating…whether you’re a 1-year-old or a 101-year old! There will be all-new treat trails throughout the park that you can visit with your family. As you go trick-or-treating keep your eyes out for such iconic characters rarely see in the parks like Mad Hatter from Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”…or maybe even Oogie Boogie himself. There will be additional treat trails scattered around the park which will have oversized cauldrons filled to the rim with treats for everyone to enjoy.
4. Mickey’s Trick & Treat
This all-new stage show will have you join Mickey Mouse and his friends as they throw a one-of-a-kind Halloween party! This show is especially great for little monsters as they can dance and enjoy not-so-frightening tales and eat candy at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land.
5. Villains Grove
If you could look inside the minds of your favorite Disney villains and walk through the images in hidden there, Villains Grove is the place for you. This experience will be like nothing you’ve ever seen before. As you walk through the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, it is transformed into Villains Grove: an interactive, dreamlike environment that has been inspired by the villains and is for all ages to wander through. You will encounter a series of scenes along with an accompanying not-so-scary symphony of of light, sounds, and shadows that you can explore on your own…or better yet explore as a group!
This brand-new show takes over “World of Color” as you watch this story of a young girl named “Shelley Marie” (a nod to author Mary Shelley). This show can only be viewed during the Oogie Boogie Bash. Shelley Marie will encounter Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent, Ursula and more villains! The shows special effects will create an amazing encounter including fountains, lasers, lights, and projections. Villainous! is sure to bring out the villain in all of us.
One of my favorite things about the Disney Halloween parties is that you get to come dressed for Halloween. There will be plenty of opportunities to mingle and take pictures with Disney characters–and villains!
Please feel free to use our Contact Us page if you are interested in booking a trip to the Disneyland Resort this fall and checking out the Oogie Boogie Bash…or just if you have any questions. We offer free, no-obligation quotes and are happy to answer questions whether or not you choose to book with us.
What I’m most looking forward to is the Villains Grove, parade…and trick-or-treat trails…I can’t wait to go trick-or-treating as an adult! What are you most looking forward to? Leave a comment and let us know:
It’s no secret that my hubby and I have been looking forward to getting to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Our messages, emails, and jabs over dinner have gone back and forth over who will get to experience it first.
Hubby has a conference in Orlando in November, so I thought I would check it out while he was in classes. Apparently, he wasn’t a big fan of that idea and gave me a hard time. He felt we should experience it together.
I recently was scheduled for a conference in September on property at Walt Disney World at Disney’s Coronado Springs. Hubby seems to have no changed his views. It is perfectly okay for him to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge while I am in class.
But, ultimately, my flight gets in about 12 hours before his. Will I sneak over and see it while he’s sitting in an airport awaiting his flight? Or will he hop a shuttle and go directly there while I am in class Friday morning?
What Are the 3 Galactic Experiences
If you are planning a visit to Walt Disney World…and more specifically Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios…you can now make your reservations for some awesome galactic experiences.

There will be a limited availability for walk-ups at Savi’s Workshop, so reservations are highly recommended. A deposit of $199 will be required for each reservation. You are allowed to bring along fellow Jedi to observe your experience.

If you’ve seen any of the Star Wars movies, you probably know by now that droids are very loyal companions. Now you the opportunity to build and customize your own galactic robot and sidekick at the Droid Depot. You get to pick pieces and parts off of a conveyor belt and construct one of two models (either the R-series or BB-series). When your droid has been completed and powered up, they will interact with elements within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
As with Savi’s Workshop, reservations are highly recommended as there will be very limited walk-up availability. Again, cancellations can be made up to one day before with no penalty. No-shows can expect to be charged the full price of the experience. You can bring along one person to watch you build your droid. But who are you kidding, aren’t they gonna want to build a droid of their own?

Disney has announced that a new restaurant, Beatrix, will be coming to Disney Springs. Beatrix will be opening their first restaurant in Florida at Disney Springs West Side. Beatrix is owned and operated by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (a Chicago-based restaurant group).
Beatrix is a neighborhood restaurant, a coffeehouse, and a grab-and-go market that features healthy food options that includes gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian offerings. You will also find fresh-squeezed juice cocktails. The restaurant will have a bakery along with a full-service bar that includes a selection of all-American beer and wine. Marc Jacobs, Executive Partner and Divisional President says: “Beatrix represents the way people are eating today – it’s that mix of health and comfort. Whether grabbing a cup of coffee and your favorite pastry, or having a cocktail, lunch, or dinner with friends, it’s your neighborhood meeting place.”
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more updates on Beatrix – as well as other anticipated eatery openings of City Works Eatery and Pour House and Ample Hills Creamery – both slated to open at Disney Springs.
Disney released the first photos of their new “World of Color” show – “Villainous!” This will be part of the all-new Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party that will be debuting September 17, 2019, for 20 select nights of parties. This is a separate-ticket event. I’ve got my ticket already and am looking forward to spending the evening with my sisters on an all-sisters trip in October.
Oogie Boogie (who can be found in “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”) will tell a Halloween tale about a young girl (a newly created character by Disney animator Eric Goldberg) named Shelly Marie. Hmm…a possible play on an name?
In “Villainous!,” Shelly has to make a decision about her Halloween costume for this year and finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney villains. Okay, I might relate a little. I struggled to decide who I was going to be for Halloween this year, but I decided on Edna Mode (not exactly a Disney villain, but she’s got a lot of attitude).
The tale that unwinds will take Shelley on an unforgettable journey through encounters with Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Malificent, The Queen, Ursula, and others.
Spectators like myself will be able to enjoy watching the villainous side of characters through lasers, lights, projections, as well as other special effects. “Villainous!” shows that deep down, maybe there’s a little villain in all of us.
Oogie Boogie Bash, will feature other experiences including:
Interactive “Descendants”-inspired dance party
Mysterious Disney villains walk-through experience
Stage show with Mickey Mouse
I can’t wait to experience this all-new Halloween party with my sisters. What a way to pay tribute to my mother who loved all things “Nightmare Before Christmas” and passed away last year after a short battle with cancer. She would have loved this event would have been one of the first in line to buy tickets if she were still here.
